Our Curator's Notes

Every year Ovanes likes to get out in the field and paint scenes out in scenic Idaho. This artwork was painted in the late spring after the snow had thawed out in the foothills. He was inspired by the beautiful weather and blossoming spring flowers shown in the foreground. These green, blue, and purple hues engage the senses as they are the intro as your eyes is led to the snow capped mountains in the distance. Ovanes also rendered his signature clouds that you can see hovering in the distance, adding to the depth and scope of this unique work.
