Our Curator's Notes
This painting was inspired by Gaja's frequent walks to Abalone Cove. She would often go down there to meet her future husband to collect small abalone shells and appreciate the sea life in the surrounding tide pools. The vieweer can sense her deep understanding of the are through her rythmic representation of the appraching waves and details of the rocky tidepools.
