Steve Simon was raised outside Chicago by immigrant parents from Luxembourg, received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and practiced in Germany, later returning to Chicago as a management consultant before pursuing an MBA in international business with studies in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and nine other cities. After receiving his MBA, he accepted a consulting assignment in Paris, where he rented an apartment in Montmartre, and the Parisian art scene inspired him to move to California in 1994 at age twenty-nine to start his art career. He is known for his colorful oil paintings of landscapes and seascapes capturing the magnificent beauty of California and other locations including Hawaii, Italy, Luxembourg, and New England, with his artistic philosophy centered on "the artful pursuit of peace and harmony." He has produced over 350 oil paintings, published seven art books including "California: Through An Artist's Eye," owned and operated a gallery on Balboa Island for eight years, and his collectors include private, corporate, and government clientele both domestically and internationally.
