Born and raised primarily in southern California, Catherine moved to Oahu in JUly of 1994. Working at an early age with watercolors, and pen and ink, she was always inspired by her mothers works in oils. Though basically self taught, she has attended art courses in Oregon, California, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. She now works mostly in oils and acrylics using both plaette knife and brush depending on the thickness or textures she plans to achieve.
Hawaii, beautiful beaches, shorelines and landscapes have been the major influence and focus of her paintings. Catherine always keeps in mind clear and clean colors when working on her pieces.
