Mario Mirkovich is one of the premier painters of palos Verdes and th surrounding areas. Known by many as the artist of PV, his works grace the walls of many art collectors in the area. WE have two of his finest works avilabe done in 2020.
Mario Mirkovich was born in a small Dalmatian fishing village on the Croatian side of the Adriatic Sea, earned a degree in commercial art in Split, Croatia, and arrived in the United States in 1967, where he became interested in oil painting. He works in oil on canvas, creating landscapes of the San Pedro and Palos Verdes areas of Southern California, inspired by memories of the fishing village from his youth, with subjects including the dramatic coastal cliffs of Palos Verdes, scenes from Abalone Cove, and views of his native Croatia. He has developed work that represents the environment surrounding his home in San Pedro, creating art that is a pensive expression of the ephemeral loveliness contained in landscapes. He is a member of the California Art Club, teaches painting classes at the Palos Verdes Art Center and at his own gallery located at 2438 S. Western Avenue in San Pedro, California, and is known locally as the premiere painter of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
