Michael Mercier

Michael has a unique 1/1 style that he lieks to all creationism. The premise is what did the time of creation look like when light was being seperated from darkness and God was forming the earth. IT would have been a time of color inusion and movement that we can only imagine on this side of eternity.

Michael Mercier developed an interest in the arts from a young age, enrolling in advanced art classes in high school where he developed a love for vibrant colors and their moods, often seeking beautiful ocean views and sunsets to articulate with Prisma color pencils and acrylic paints that he would give as gifts to his grandparents. While attending the University College of Santa Barbara, he experimented with many forms of art including sculpting, charcoals, and oil painting. After taking a break to begin his business career, he was re-inspired to create art following the birth of his first child, developing a new appreciation for the importance of art through the process of birth and creation. Michael believes art should be free and come from the soul without limitation, with his work often inspired by soulful memories of beautiful places and, as his faith grew, by the book of Genesis and the thought of what the earth looked like as God's Spirit was moving over the waters. He starts each painting with a prayer, moving color around until shapes appear that remind him of various elements of creation, with each work taking weeks or months to complete through layers of painting and long breaks between inspiration, and many pieces include a tree representing Jesus as the tree of life.
