Our Curator's Notes
This pastel artwork was done at the 2023 Maui Plein Air invitational and depicts the world famous Hanalua Bay on the island of Maui. From a local overhang in which is used to check the surf, Greg skillfully weaves the blue colors of the Pacific Ocean with the oncoming surf of this world famous location. On the cliffs in the distance a building and trees can be seen, creating a sense of depth and balance to the viewer.1
