Our Curator's Notes

The following is painting made in Idaho showing Evening Light on one of Ovanes' famous barn scenes with the uniqueness of the flowers and lighting. Ovanes worked on this painting over a few years as he would re-work it trying to get the perfect interplay of the light and shadows.  It is an intimate scene that draws you into the garden area behind the barn as the light green hues and purple flowers give great balance to the painting.
